In nearly every elementary school classroom teaches spend a portion of the school day reading aloud to students. This is because reading aloud is such a valuable tool when teaching students to read, and getting them excited to learn for themselves. Not only are read-alouds important, but having a diverse classroom library of quality literature is even more important. Students need to have all different sorts of books available to them for their own exploration.
Below are some examples of different books that can either read aloud to the classroom, or would be of high quality to have in the classroom library.
Alphabet Books
• Eating the Alphabet by Lois Elhert
