Technology is constantly a part of each person's life today, therefore children are very excited and interested in it as well. There are many beneficial ways to incorporate technology into the classroom today, while still having a positive learning impact. From my experiences students absolutely are excited and engaged anytime they have the opportunity to use technology in the classroom.
IPad's - There are endless interactive apps available today that pertain to math.
Here are some examples:
• Butterfly Math Addition - This app helps with basic addition skills as well as number recognition.
• Counting Bills & Coins - This app has many mini activities pertaining to skills related to money.
• Fizzy's Lunch Lab - This is more of an interactive app game with math. Students go through different challenges pertaining to addition, and money, with the theme of grocery shopping.
• 10 Monkeys -This app focuses on multiplication skills & fluency!
Smart Board - Not only does the smart board offer students away to visually present mini projects they have have learned, but it can also be a way to display interactive songs and such from youtube. Here are 2 links that could be displayed on the smart board to keep students engaged and learning about math! Kids could also earn the opportunity with a large pointer to go to the board and point along to the song.
