Not only do most students love being read to and reading independently, but acting out your favorite book can be even more fun. This is such a playful learning experience that can be explored in a few different ways.
Readers Theater - Create a stage or designated area of the room with available props for students to be able to act out there favorite books and characters. This is also a good indicator of text comprehension. Are your students truly understanding what they are reading or what is being read to them? Puppet Show - This is a similar way of role play, but lets students maybe feel more able to express themselves through a character! Story Telling Basket - Once again, this is another route as to how playful learning and role play can be incorporated into reading. |
